SPATA AIRPORT-CAIRO-RAITHO-MOUNT SINAI
After Midnight: Flight to Cairo. Arrival and direct departure for the Sinai Peninsula via the Suez. Along the way, visits to St. George’s Monastery in Raitho and to the women’s monastery in Faran Oasis (if access is permitted). Arrival at St. Catherine’s Monastery, accommodation in the monastery’s guesthouses or at a local hotel.

Very early in the morning for those who will ascend to the Holy Peak of Mount Sinai, where the prophet Moses received the Ten Commandments. Guided Tour to the Monastery premises (Holy Vatos(Bush), Museum & others). Free time and optional visit of the Hermitage of Saints Galaktion and Episteme.

Church service at the Catholicon of the Holy Monastery. Departure for Israel via Taba borders. Arrival and check-in at a hotel in Jerusalem.

05:00 Hrs. – Descent to Gethsemane. Attendance of the Ceremony (Precession) for the transfer of the Icon of the Theotokos to Gethsemane. Full day visit to the area of Bethlehem. Church of the Nativity, the Shepherds’ Field, the Monastery of St. Theodosios the Cenobiarch, and the Lavra(Monastery) of St. Savvas the Sanctified.

Visit to the Jericho area. Holy Monastery of Chozeva, Mount of Temptation, the river Jordan (“Hagiasmos” – Sanctification of the waters), Holy Monastery of the Prophet Elisha, Holy Monastery of Abbot Gerasimos the Jordanite, Bethany(Holy Monastery of Martha and Mary) and the Holy Shrines on the Mount of Olives (Ascension of the Lord, and small Galilee).
22:30 Hrs. – Midnight Divine Liturgy in Gethesmane (Optional).

Attendance of the Service of the Lamentations of the Most Holy Theotokos in Gethsemane. Afterwards visits to the Path of Martyrdom (Praetorion, Prison of Christ, etc..), as well as to Gethsemane (Holy Shrine of the Mother of God, the garden of betrayal and prayer, etc.). In the afternoon pilgrimage in the All-Holy church of the Resurrection (Horrendous Golgotha, Holy Sepulchre, etc.).

DORMITION OF THE THEOTOKOS

Attendance of the Devine Liturgy in Gethsemane. Visit to the hill of Zion (the “Upper Room” where the Last Supper took place, etc.), as well as to the new city of Jerusalem (Holy Monasteries of the Holy Cross and of St. Symeon the God-Receiver).

Morning departure with the luggage for the region of Galilee, with Tel Aviv Airport as the final destination. Visits to Nazareth, to Cana of Galilee, to Mount Tabor, to the Holy Monastery of the Holy Apostles in Tiberias, and to ancient Capernaum. Transfer to Tel Aviv Airport and on the way, brief pilgrimage to the Holy Monastery of Saint George in Lydda. Evening flight to Athens.
