Morning Flight for Tel Aviv. Arrival, and transfer to Jerusalem. Along the way, visit to the Holy Monastery of Saint Georges in Lydda. In the afternoon, guided visit to the Old City of Jerusalem and pilgrimage to the All Holy Church of the Resurrection (Horrendous Golgotha, Holy Sepulchre, et al.). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Visit to the Jericho area. Holy Monastery of Martha and Mary in Bethany, Tomb of Lazarus, Holy Monastery of Chozeva, Mount of Temptation, the Jordan river (ceremony of the “Hagiasmos” – Sanctification of the waters), Holy Monastery of the Prophet Elisha, and the Holy Monastery of Abbot Gerasimos the Jordanite.
Midnight – Holy Vigil to the Holy Sepulcher (optional).
Hrs. 05:00 – Descent to Gethsemane. Attendance of the Ceremony (Precession) for the transfer of the Icon of the Theotokos to the church of the Dormition of Theotokos in Gethsemane, wherein lies the Tomb of the Virgin Mary. Return to the hotel for breakfast. Full day visit to the area of Bethlehem. Church of the Nativity, the Shepherds’ Field, the Monastery of St. Theodosios the Cenobiarch, and the Lavra (Monastery) of St. Savvas the Sanctified.
Morning visit to the the Path of Martyrdom (the Praetorium, the Prisons of Christ, et al.), as well as to Gethsemane (the Tomb of the Mother of God, the Garden of Betrayal and Prayer et al.). In the afternoon visits to Mount Zion (place of the Dormition of the Theotokos, the “Upper Room” et al.) as well as to the new city of Jerusalem (Monasteries of the Holy Cross and of Saint Symeon the God-Receiver). Hrs. 22:30 – Midnight Divine Liturgy in Gethesmane (Optional).
Attendance of the Service of the Lamentations of the Most Holy Theotokos in Gethsemane. Subsequently visit to the Holy Shrines on the Mount of Olives (Ascension of the Lord, and small Galilee).
DORMITION OF THE THEOTOKOS
Church attendance at Gethsemane and participation in the Festive Divine Liturgy for the Dormition of the Theotokos. In the afternoon departure for Galilee.
Departure with luggage with final destination Tel Aviv Airport. Visits to Nazareth (Church of the Annunciation), to Cana of Galilee, to Mount Tabor, to Tiberius and to ancient Capernaum Afternoon Flight to Athens.
